It really annoys me when people ask me “When are you settling down? When do you plan of having your own family? “ Especially that I am turning 32 years old this month.

It’s honestly an invasive thought to wonder about, when I am enjoying my single life these days. To all my single female queens out there, do you get these questions a lot?

But really, let me spill you some tea about the dating life of a Traveler.

We meet potential partners during travels.

Honestly, I have met more potential lovers during my travel than going to meet people in my city. It’s not that I am not interested with the local men, but it’s just some men I’ve met in my city doesn’t have the same thought or vibes as me.

Travelers can have healthy relationship too.

Some people always assume that because they live together and always together their relationship is healthy, but I’m pretty sure that this is not the case. Couples who spend more apart and enjoying their time alone, always comes back together refreshed and making their feelings stronger as long as you both know how to communicate and know your limitations.

Travelers are not promiscuous.

I’ve heard a lot of assumptions about travelers that they are only interested in flings and one night stand. I do remember my friend saying “oh he is a traveler. NO!” Maybe some of the travelers who backpacks are known for one night stand, but so is a 30 year old man working in the office with commitment issue. You see, not everyone participates in this, in fact, there are more travelers that met in the hostel and fall in love.

We can have a stable love life too.

The life of a traveler can be difficult sometimes when it comes to finding love due to frequent movement, but instability is just a state of mind. When you are in love, you always find a way to be with that person as distant doesn’t matter. Falling in love as a traveler is all about balance, dynamic, level of trust and understanding.

I cannot really speak in behalf of all the travelers out there when it comes to their love life, but as for me, I may not have found the one who will take me anywhere and sweep me off my feet but trust me, I am doing pretty fine on not settling down for now. I feel like I still have so many countries to visit, so many foods to taste and so many cultures and history to discover.

So yeah, don’t worry about me and my dating life. I am doing fine. We are doing fine, eh!
